LMMS, the tool to make music, receives a new update after 4 years

The open source tool for music creation LMMS has received a new stable update after 4 years.

The previous version of this tool for musicians is LMMS 1.1.3 and was released in 2015. Now comes LMMS 1.2 with many improvements, new features and fixes.


Once called free Fruityloops clone (FL Studio), LMMS has matured into a great tool for musicians with their own identity. The application has a very intuitive interface, several tools and great fullness of features including support for VST instruments.

With LMMS 1.2 the team created a solid base with four years of fixes, improvements in main features and new features in the interface.

In LMMS 1.2 we find a new theme, a new demo song, parametric equalizer with spectrum viewer, VST synchronization activated by default, import and export of improved MIDI, list of effects ordered, among many other things.

Linux users specifically include support for App Image, and arrangements for 32-bit VST on 64-bit Linux with VST synchronization enabled. The interface now also works very well with HiDPI screens.

LMMS is free and available for Windows, MacOS and Linux, you can download the installer on the official page. Linux users can get this latest release as an App Image, which allows to have a container with all necessary dependencies inside.
